November 2014
The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) is a multi-district, grassroots leadership development program of member districts organized into regional divisions throughout the world. It is not an official program of Rotary International and is not under its control. The RLI seeks to have Rotary Clubs in member districts identify those Rotarians who seem to have the POTENTIAL for future club leadership (not necessarily as club presidents) and provide those so identified with a quality education in Rotary knowledge and leadership skills for voluntary organizations.

Odds and Ends about RLI

Some comments by participants at a recent RLI Part III session:

"It would take over 20 years to get the Rotary information that we get at RLI in a club setting alone."

"No member of my club who has attended RLI has left the club (same comment by several participants)".

"My only regret is that I did not become involved in RLI sooner."

Registration Open for Curriculum Committee Meeting

The Curriculum Committee Meeting flyer is now posted on the home page of www.rotaryleadershipinstitute.org. This annual meeting is one of the more important ones because the Committee will review the curriculum for the 3 year segment beginning July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2018. RLI initiated changing the major revisions of the curriculum on an annual basis to a three year basis to enable the volunteer translators to eliminate the need for annual translations. The committee works mostly through subcommittees on various subjects as well as some plenary sessions.

Every RLI Division is entitled to send one or more representatives to the Committee meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn Airport, Orlando, Florida, beginning Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. until noon on Sunday, February 1.

Officers for the 2015 meeting are PDG Randy Rawiszer, Secretary and Organizing Chair and PDG Edward King, Editor. Registration Chair is Debbie Maymon. The Sunshine Division of RLI is the host division for the meeting.

Due to limited space, early registration is requested.
