On June 1 at 7:30 a.m. (Doors Open at 7:15 a.m.) join RLI members and guests from all over the world at the Annual RLI Convention Breakfast at the MVL Hotel Goyang, very near the Convention Center. Always a festive event, there will be a full Asian and American breakfast buffet, a musical and vocal performance and great Rotary program of speakers/awards, etc. The per person price is only US$ 28.00, a bargain for that venue.

Welcome New Member District
RLI is very pleased to welcome District 1410 as a member of the Finland Division. The new district is located on the southwestern corner of Finland and also contains the Aland Islands. The Agreement of Membership was signed by District Governor Olli M. Pihlava. The Chair of the Finland Division is Leila Ristelli.
Online Courses Pilot Program Progresses
The latest RLI pilot program courses will have been held on February 15, 16, 17 and 18 using the latest version of the highly regarded Zoom online program. The four sessions will cover Part III of the RLI Basic Curriculum. This portion of the Online Courses Pilot is being led by Jeff Weinrach of Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. Chair of the Online Pilot Courses Committee is PDG Yoshihiro Sekiba of Japan and other committee members are Beryl Robinson of New Zealand, Phil Abraham, USA, Diana White of 7020 (Caribbean Islands) and Tam Mustapha, RLI Intl. liaison. It is hoped that the pilot program will be completed by July 1 and a report submitted following.
The ultimate aim of the project is to explore the feasibility of providing RLI courses for those who cannot personally attend regular RLI sessions.
Early Bird Meeting for RLI Held at Joint Rotary Institute in Warwickshire, England
The Annual Early Bird Meeting for Zones 15 and 16 was held at the joint Rotary Institutes in Warwickshire, England and also included interested Rotarians from Zones 17 and 18A (Great Britain). Leading the event was PDG Nils Ove Jensen of Denmark, who is the RLI Intl. Regional Chair for Zones 15 and 16 (Scandinavia, Eastern Russia, Baltic Countries and Poland).
A special guest was Rotary International Director Per Hoyen, the Treasurer of R.I. Director Hoyen has been a great supporter and promoter of RLI.
In addition to the Early Bird Meeting, there was a stand in the House of Friendship staffed by Danish, Finnish and Swedish RLI District Chairs and attracting Rotarians from all four zones.
The International RLI is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Francis Tusubira, PDG of Kampala, Uganda to be the RLI Intl. Regional Chair for East and Central Africa. Tusu is a most respected Rotary leader who, among other things, serves on the Programs Committee of the Rotary Foundation and is the Vice-Chair of the Cadre of Technical Advisers of The Rotary Foundation. He was formerly Chair of the RLI East Africa Division that has since been reorganized and was active in the very successful District 9211 RLI program.
The RLI Division List has been updated to reflect some changes that have occurred in early 2016.. The changes will soon appear on the RLI Website.
Additional changes will be reported for new officers who will take office on July 1.

RLI Discussion Group on R.I. Discussion Groups Site Keeps Growing
We urge RLI members to join the RLI discussion group on the R.I. My Rotary/Discussion groups. The RLI site is called, “Rotary Leadership Institute/RLI”. At the time of the writing of this eBulletin, 537 Rotarians have joined the site and 20 discussion topics have been opened. Any Rotarian may join the group.

Zone 20B RLI Divisions Planning Special Faculty Training
With the leadership of RLI International Regional Chair Kalcho Hinov, PDG, of Bulgaria, the RLI Divisions in Zone 20B will meet in Haskovo, Bulgaria for a special faculty training session. The event will take place on April 21-23. The training will be conducted by PDG (and DGE) Frank Wargo, RLI International Vice-Chair for Training and PDG Michael Rabasca, International RLI Executive Director. The Zone section covers the Balkans and the Middle East.
Faculty Training Planned for Lithuania and Latvia
RLI members from Latvia and Lithuania have agreed to have a joint faculty training session in Riga this Spring. A training team from Denmark will conduct the training.
In addition faculty training is being planned for Norway. Leading the plans for these events is PDG Nils Ove Jensen of Denmark who is the RLI Intl. Regional Chair for Zones 15 and 16.
ROTARACT Leadership Institute Holds Sessions in Hyderabad, India
Originally initiated by PRID Jacques di Costanzo of France, RLI International Regional Chair for Europe, RLI is considering a request to assist the Rotaract Leadership Institute. Another recent request for assistance was received from Rtr Hamadullah Sohu, District 3271 Rotaract Secretary in India. We will keep our readers informed if the effort proceeds.
